Dance Teachers Continuing Education Certificate recognized by DanceTeacher Magazine
This program is for teachers of jazz, contemporary or modern dance genres who teach classes for teens and adults. It is suited for teachers in any of the following settings: middle or high school dance programs, private studios, community colleges, and four-year college/university dance programs. Upon completion of the course of study, the participant will receive a Certificate of Completion. The intent of the program is to inspire, offer fresh approaches, and evoke reflection. One Unit of Graduate Level credit is available for teachers who complete the certificate plus an additional assignment. See College Credit
- Required: “Teaching Dance” Seminar Class taught by Chris Harris (Supplemental Class offered once on Saturday, July 28)
- Required Classes – In addition to the Teaching Dance Seminar: Registration in non-performance classes that total 19 or more class meetings minimum is required. Certificate Program teachers may choose the classes that are of most interest to them.
- Required Self Reflective Assignment: Completion of a learning outcome worksheet to be provided during the workshop. Due no later than Wednesday, August 1, 2018 for verification.
1 Week Option: You can complete the certificate in one week, however college credit is only available for those who attend both weeks. Contact Lara to discuss one week option (firstname.lastname@example.org)
NOTE: Certificate Participants are allowed to either participate or observe classes in which they are enrolled. Also participants are welcome to observe any classes in Studio 150 in which they are not enrolled. No filming allowed.
About levels: Teachers enrolled in the certificate program are allowed to self-select level unless also enrolled in corresponding performance classes as well. Contact us for further information.
